Acute Life Threatening Recognition and Treatment (ALERT)

Course Details

The course is delivered over one day and consists of course lectures, practical demonstrations, small group work and patient scenarios. The theory for the course will be revised from the ALERT course manual, and staff are encouraged to participate in all parts of the day to gain the full experience.

Expected Learning Outcomes

  • Recognition of the at risk patient
  • Can effectively treat the patient using skills gained within the course
  • To enhance communication skills in multi disciplinary environment
  • To improve the overall confidence in staff who look after this cohort of patients
